Question: I have been buying many links but it is hard to know which ones count and which ones do not. Is there any way to test if a link is clean and passes link authority?

Answer: If you are in a small market you can build links slowly and check your rankings as you build links, but there are two big problems with this:
testing is slow, search algorithms frequently change, and ranking changes may occur outside of the effect of any individual link

Why You Should Sign Up For A Picasa AccountWriting by Nick Stamoulis on Saturday, 25 of August , 2007 at 1:06 pm

You may be asking, “What is Picasa?”

Picasa is Google’s photo album feature. It isn’t as popular as Flickr, owned by Yahoo, but I believe it just as essential because as more and more people go online and learn to make vertical searches, they will look for photos. Here’s how to use Picasa for SEO purposes related to your business:

I needed a tool that quickly tells me what page of search results a URL ranks on at Google for a specific keyword.   It didn’t need any advanced features or complicated options, just something where if I was visiting a page I could hit a button and instantly find out where it ranks for a keyword.  I threw together a quick PHP script that does exactly this, including a browser button so I can have a Where’s it rank?” link in my firefox toobar.  This script certainly doesn’t do anything phenomenal (it took me about an hour to write), but I thought I’d offer the source code for download to SEOmoz readers anyway.   This isn’t intended to be one of our official SEO tools, it’s just something I thought I’d share in case there was someone out there with a similar need.

Is Relevance Still Relevant?Writing by Nick Stamoulis on Tuesday, 30 of October , 2007 at 9:51 am

If you have a network of blogs that are connected to each other by links and they don’t have any obvious relationship other than the fact that they are owned by you, I’d suggest that you de-link them.

As you know, Google recently updated everyone’s PageRank. That’s likely good news for most of you, but for some of you, especially you old-timers who are used to doing things a certain way, you might have got picked on this time. There were two ways that Google punched back at web-savvy entrepreneurs who have been, even unwittingly, gaming the system - or just making out with its downside.

I thought the rest of this year was going to be smooth sailing as far as public speaking. Boy was I wrong!

Last week I did two presentation for the VISI Data Center 2.0 event in St. Paul. The topic was, “The Truth About Search Engine Optimization” and it went VERY well. Sans the technical glitch with at the beginning that is. I had about 20 companies request a follow up conversation about TopRank possibly providing search engine optimization consulting and about another 20 people requested copies of the presentation.

Here are my top 5 plugins that I use and think are requirement for every wordpress blog and if you don’t use wordpress find something similar ! ask questions here I might be able to help you finding it!
1. All in one SEO - I love this plugin because I don’t have to work around the php code in order to make it Search Engine Friendly , it rewrites titles, keywords and much other stuff !

2. Google Analytics - I would not be able to run this website without Google Analytics because I wouldn’t knowhow many visitors i get, where do they come from, what do they click on, what is my top content, how long do they stay on website, and most important traffic statistics.

We have some, well, buddies over at BuddyTV, so I was interested to see that they were AuctionAds’ May Publisher of the Month. “Good for them,” I thought, before going, “Wait, what’s AuctionAds?”

Yeah, yeah, don’t make fun of me. So I don’t know what AuctionAds is…give me a break, we’ve got a lot going on here at the MozQuarters (especially with Rand in China…in fact, the Moz Squad will be very busy today playing frisbee at the park tackling that task list he left for us). Anyway, I checked out their site and found a handy list of 10 Reasons to Run AuctionAds. Read it if, like me, you’re a bit slow on the uptake and don’t know what AuctionAds is.
